Sundays
at
CITYLIGHTS
Church

Our Sunday gathering is one of our favorite times of the week to sing, laugh, pray, learn, and connect with God and people. If you are looking for a church home or a place to seek God, we would love for you to make a visit.

Our Values

At CITYLIGHTS, our values are at the heart of who we are and what we strive to embody. They are the foundational principles that guide our actions, shape our culture, and define our identity as a community. Our values serve as a compass, directing our decisions, behaviors, and priorities.

Citylights Bread White Icon
Bread

We are devoted to sharing meals and sharing life with one another. We believe that living life together, not alone, is a part of God's design for our lives, and it extends beyond Sunday mornings. Sharing a meal is both a physical and spiritual practice of setting aside our differences and focusing on the people around us. When bread is broken, our eyes are opened to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Citylights Word Icon White
Word

We are devoted to reading and meditating on Scripture for repenting and believing the Gospel. We believe that Scripture, comprised of the Old and New Testaments, is a library of writings both divine and human that tell a unified story pointing us to Jesus -- and showing us how to grow wise in Him.

Citylights Prayer White Icon
Prayer

We are devoted to asking, seeking, and knocking in prayer as a way of life. We believe prayer is powerful, heart-changing, and necessary in our lives as followers of Jesus. Just as Jesus prayed, our ultimate hope in prayer is for God's will to be done in His church and His people.

Our vision
Our vision is to create a community deeply rooted in the Word, nourished by the Bread of communion,
and connected through Prayer.
This is our Doctrine of Faith

This is our Doctrine of Faith at CITYLIGHTS Church, a guiding framework that shapes our beliefs and values. As we live out our doctrine, we are committed to serving others, advocating for justice, and making a positive impact in the world.

Our new look, explained

CITYLIGHTS Church is followers of Jesus devoted to building Family, Blessing Neighbors and Bringing Good News to the Nations. Our mission has rich layers of intentional relationship that brings the Kingdom in Greenville. At heart we believe the Gospel is something that overflows from follower to family, family to neighbors, and neighborhoods to nations. Likewise, this logo has intentional layers, each image overflowing into the next!

We start with the image of a home. We are devoted that each of the members of CITYLIGHTS Church to follow Jesus together, not alone. CITYgroups are weekly gatherings of 7-12 around tables for bread word and prayer. The home image reminds us that church is not just for Sunday but something reaches intimately into all of our lives through sharing meals, hearing Jesus through Scripture, and praying with and for one another.

Next we have the image of a church. We are devoted to building a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, must-classed, multi-gifted church that finds it’s unity in Christ - not clique or subculture. The church image reminds us that the Gospel will shine the brightest in Greenville through the process of his sons and daughters grow to be one in Him.

Last is the image of a light. We are devoted to being goers and senders in the Gospel. As senders, we are so honored to spiritually and financially support out global and local mission partners. As goers, we are also empowered to see the Gospel shared with our neighbors through intentional rhythms of hospitality. The light image reminds us that each of us is a light where we live, work, learn, and play.

Zooming out you can see the story of CITYLIGHTS in our logo. Each of us plays a small part in the map of Greenville but by simply taking one step at a time to follow Jesus, He will be the one that builds our church, blesses our neighbors, and sees the Gospel advanced into the Nations.
